New TV prices follow a predictable annual rhythm. Learn it once and you will never pay full price again.
The TV pricing calendar
- January-February — Best time for last year's flagship. Retailers clear stock before the new lineup ships in March. Expect 30-50% off list.
- March-May — Worst time. New model announcements push last year's stock into limited supply.
- June — Watch for early Prime Day teasers on mid-range OLEDs.
- July (Prime Day) — Best deals on Samsung, LG, and Sony mid-range.
- September — Ahead of the football season. Sports-bar OLEDs get discounted.
- November (Black Friday) — Deep discounts on last generation only. Current-year OLEDs rarely see meaningful drops.
- December — Panic-buy pricing. Skip.
The one rule
If you can wait until January, you almost always save more than Black Friday.
